Marija Marsenić

Education

Marija Marsenić graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Priština (temporarily located in Kosovska Mitrovica), in 2021, achieving an average grade of 9.55, and was recognized as the top student of her generation. In 2022, she completed her master’s studies in sociology at the same faculty with an average grade of 10.00. Her master’s thesis, titled “Media Reporting in Serbia About the Russia-Ukraine War”, was awarded the highest grade. In the same year, she commenced her doctoral studies in sociology at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade.

Biography

Marija D. Marsenić is a doctoral candidate at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade. Since March 2023, she has been employed as a research intern at the Institute for European Studies. She completed her undergraduate studies in 2021 at the Faculty of Philosophy in Kosovska Mitrovica, graduating as the top student in her generation. From February 2021 to July 2021, she participated in sociology studies at the Faculty of Philosophy in Maribor, Slovenia, supported by the Erasmus+ Mobility program. She earned her master’s degree from the same faculty in 2022, defending her thesis titled “Media Reporting in Serbia About the Russia-Ukraine War” with a grade of 10. Throughout her undergraduate and master’s studies, she received a scholarship from the Fund for Young Talents of the Republic of Serbia. Her primary areas of interest include cancel culture, cultural wars, and identity movements. In addition to her native language, she speaks English fluently, German at an advanced level, and has basic knowledge of Russian.
