organize a discussion regarding the new book written by
Professor Nebojša Vladisavljević
The Rise and Fall of Democracy since October the Fifth
Nebojša Vladisavljević works at the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Belgrade since 2008, where he holds the rank of associate professor and teaches courses in comparative democratization. He obtained his bachelor’s degree at the mentioned faculty, while he completed his master’s and PhD studies at the London School of Economics and Political Science. After completing his studies, he held lectures in comparative politics and
ethnic conflict management at the postgraduate level at LSE, from 2004 to 2008. His research activities focus on authoritarianism and democratization, social movements and revolutions, nationalism and ethnic conflict management, constitutional design in new democracies, as well as on the role of media in divided societies.
The Rise and Fall of Democracy Since the October the Fifth discusses the decade long rise of democracy in Serbia, as well as its reoccurring downfall.
The Lecture will be held at the Institute library, Nikola Pašić Square 11, floor 3, room 105.
