NORMS IN THE CHANGING GLOBAL ORDER: WHAT WE CAN
LEARN FROM THE RECOGNITION PRACTICE IN EURASIA?
Prof. Bohumil Doboš is a Czech political scientist and geographer who currently works at the
Institute of Political Studies, Department of Political Science, Faculty of Social Sciences,
Charles University in Prague. His research interests include secessionist territories and non- state
actors, neomedieval geopolitics, territoriality, and astropolitics—that is, the politics of outer
space. He has published several monographs, including New Middle Ages: Geopolitics of the
Post-Westphalian World (2020) and Geopolitics of the Outer Space: A European Perspective
(2018), as well as numerous book chapters and articles on the territorial strategies of jihadist
groups, challenges of space governance, migration, and secession. Earlier in his career, he also
worked on issues of defense and security policy in the Czech Republic.
