The author of this book is a socio-legal expert in the field of agriculture, who, in addition to dozens of scientific articles in domestic and foreign scientific journals, has also published two books: “Agricultural Law of Serbia” in Serbian and English and “Globalization of Law: Harmonization of Law in the Modern World” ” in Serbian and six other world languages. In addition to scientific work, the author has experience in advocacy, teaching and research as a civil servant. The latest book that is in front of the readers consists of an overview of the 20 most important regulations in the field of food and agriculture that are applied in Europe, where the author starts from a broader understanding of the concept of European law, which, in addition to the national rights of EU member states, takes into account the fact that on the territory of the European Union The Union also applies law originating from international organizations such as the World Trade Organization, the Food and Agriculture Organization, the World Health Organization and others. Within the framework of European law understood in this way, the author takes as the subject of analysis European legislation, that is, strategies, international agreements, regulations and directives of the European Union, as well as special international conventions and other general acts that are applied in the European area in the field of agriculture. The documents included in the analysis sample were processed through the prism of different aspects of agriculture, such as: rural development, food safety, animal and plant protection, organic production and biodiversity protection.
