Prof. Dr. Vladimir Cvetković: “Sociology of politics. Pre-modern political communities – values, institutions, actors. Book two”
Prof. Dr. Vladimir Cvetković graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad (1985). Master’s degree at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade on the topic “The problem of personality in the work of early Lukacs, 1900-1929” (1989). He received his doctorate at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade with the topic “Civil Individual and Utopia of Intellectual Society” (1990). He obtained his doctorate in philosophy at the Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad with the topic “Historical context and political dimension of philosophical knowledge” (2001). Engaged at the Faculty of Security since 1986, as an associate in the courses Marxism, Introduction to Philosophy with Ethics and Sociology. He was elected to the position of assistant professor for the subject Sociology in 1992, and to the position of associate professor in 1996. He was elected to the position of full professor in 2001. He was engaged as a research associate and senior research associate at the Institute for Political Studies in Belgrade (1994-1996). In 1994, he was elected to the position of Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the FPS in Belgrade, which he taught until November 1999. By invitation, he has been teaching History of Philosophy at the Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad since 1996. At the Institute of Philosophy and Social Theory of the University of Belgrade, he was elected to the position scientific advisor in 2002. He served as dean at the Faculty of Security (2004-2012). He is at the position of dean since 2018. From 1994 to 1999, editor-in-chief of the interdisciplinary magazine for political theory (Nova) Serbian Political Thought. He is a member of the editorial board of the journal “Human Security”, editor of “Agora” – the Library for Political Philosophy and Social Analysis, and v. d. the editor of the bulletin Security in Serbia – review and analysis. He is a member of the Serbian Philosophical Society and the Sociological Society of Serbia. He was twice elected as a member of the RRA Council.
