Before the readers is the book written by Dr. Rajko Petrović and Dr. Danilo Babić, “Crimes of Western Civilization” (Catena Mundi and Institute of European Studies, 2024, 240 p.). It is a scientific monograph in which, first of all, an overview of the theoretical framework of colonialism and colonial practices is given, followed by an analysis of the origin, development and collapse of the European colonial powers (Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, as well as Scandinavian countries), as well as some of the most significant crimes committed by them during several past centuries. The concluding part of the paper is dedicated to the elaboration of modern mechanisms of neo-colonial domination and power. The book is full of sources in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and other world languages.
