From the 5th to the 7th of October, 2023, a thematic scientific conference titled “South Serbia and Serbian Statehood” was held in Medveđa and Sijarinska Banja. This significant event was organized by the National Museum of Leskovac, the Institute for Contemporary History, and the Municipal Library “Petar Petrović Njegoš” Medveđa.
The conference was inaugurated by Mr. Nikola Selaković, the Minister for Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs of the Republic of Serbia. Among the participants were Dr. Miša Đurković, Dr. Stevan Gajić, and Dr. Dušan Ilić. Dr. Miša Đurković had the honor of being one of the moderators of this important scientific conference.
Dr. Dušan Ilić presented his work titled “The Contribution of Duke Petko Ilić Nagorički in the Liberation of Southern Serbia”, which enriched the discussion and contributed to understanding this important topic.
